Supporting Documentation
Applications for Advanced Standing must be supported by documentation to substantiate the basis upon which the application is being made. Applications based on Recognition of Prior Learning should include supporting documentation as follows
- The following information is required before any RPL application can be assessed:
- The unit for which you are applying to have as Recognised Prior Learning (RPL).
- Cover Letter with a brief summary as the basis of your request.
- Curriculum Vitae (maximum 2 pages)
- RPL Statement: this document should address the Learning Outcomes of the unit. These outcomes are listed in the full unit outline available from the online handbook via ECU’s homepage at http://handbook.ecu.edu.au/
A paragraph is required for each Learning Outcome demonstrating how your experience meets the learning outcome, i.e. describing the activity is not sufficient; it needs to be related specifically to the learning outcome and how you have demonstrated it. For example, if you have been a member of a working party the Assessor of your application needs to know the role that you undertook to achieve the goal. - For Credit Transfer this will include copies of documents confirming completion of qualifications and/or individual units of study. Course and unit outlines should accompany this application where the studies were completed at another institution for which no established advanced standing precedence exists.
Submitting your Application
- Commencing students need to submit their application prior to enrolment in their first teaching period.
- Continuing students need to submit their application no later than the first week of the teaching period for which they are applying. This will allow sufficient time for the application to be approved and processed before the census date.
