- learner needs ( pior knowledge, culture impoairments, learning style, maturity)

- determine knowledge gap

- create or find resources (how you will train)

- instruction/ session plans

- deliver instruction ( theory, practical, demonstration)

- review (improvements, ensure learner is satisfied)

- ask (specific skills relating to job, start broad then narrow down, focus on deficiencies in questioning)

- observation (watch learner perform task, check their work)

- employee skill list (qualifications, competency, certificates)

- diagnostic activities (assessing skill, maturity/ work ethic)

- learner needs (disability, difficulties)
