Also know as Repeater. regenerate electronic signal to send it further with strong one.

Located in Layer 1, collision domain made in process.

- Collision domain

The data will collide when host send data while other send as well

- CSMA/CD(Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Detection)

Check weather someone send data or not to avoid collision. And wait for a second before check again.

- jam signal

saying that no one should send signal for this time

- backoff timer

after listening jam signal, they wait for milisecond and process CSMA/CD again.
